be a part of a transformative program that helps support families in Montgomery County?
As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, all funds go directly toward supporting our families.

Though we receive many donations of goods to pass on to our families, it does cost money to do this work. Some of the expenses we incur include the rental of a storage space for our donated goods, the cost of purchasing goods for families when we don't have donations available, vehicle maintenance, gas, tolls, hosting our website, outreach and more.

Donate Goods
Most urgent need: MATTRESSES
Our goal is to support Montgomery County families by providing them with the Bare Necessities including furniture, linens, kitchen goods, toiletries, food and diapers.
​
We always need donations of these items as it is often a challenge to keep a large supply.
Whether you have your own furniture and goods to donate or you can get out the word about Bare Necessities when you hear about friends, family or local businesses that have goods to donate, we are appreciative!

As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, we need many strong bodies and talented minds to do the work. If you are looking for a fulfilling way to donate your time, please consider volunteering with us. There is a role for everyone. Learn more by clicking the link below.

What we accept:
Think of items one might need whe setting up their first home.
Please note: donated items should be in very good used condition or new.
A good rule of thumb is if you wouldn't pass it on to your children, then please find another organization for the donation.
Furniture
We accept mattresses, bed frames, dressers, dining tables, dining chairs, loveseats. Please no box springs or bed frames that need box springs. If an item can be dissembled, please do so prior to pick up or drop off.
Kitchen Items
We accept dishes, glasses, pots, pans, bakeware, utensil and small appliances.
Linens
We accept towels and bed linens. Please wash, bundle and label linens according to size before donation.
Kid's Clothing
We accept kid's clothing and outerwear up to size 12. Please ensure items are washed before donation.
Lamps
We accept floor lamps, table lamps and desk lamps.
Do you have furniture or household goods to donate?
We are grateful for donations of furniture and household items in great condition.
Please check the list of what we accept prior to filling out this form.
If requesting a pick up, please have items disassembled and ready for
pick up on your front porch or at the front door.
